Athlone Extrusions (UK) Ltd

The core business of Athlone Extrusions is the manufacture of extruded sheets and film in polystyrene both high impact and general purpose, ABS and PMMA/ABS (acrylic capped acrylonitrile butadiene styrene).
The manufacturing facility is based in the town of Athlone and comprises
a) 12000 sq. metres of plant on a 6 acre site
b) The company manufactures its own masterbatch compounding/preparation division and contains 5 compounding extruders
c) The extrusion division has fourteen sheet/film lines all with co-extrusion facilities with an installed capacity of 28,000 tonnes p.a.
d) Sales offices are based in Athlone, Birmingham in the UK and Tilburg in Holland.
Athlone Extrusions commercial strategy is based on high quality service in a short lead-time. Lead times offered are typically two to three weeks from receipt of order across all product groups. This is considerably shorter than that offered by Athlone's competitors. The ability to do this is provided by the in-house colour matching and compounding allied to the flexibility that fourteen co-extrusion lines affords.
