About Us
Virginia Transport Ltd is a family run Logistics Company based in Virginia, County Cavan, Ireland, 80 kilometres northwest of Dublin City.
We have been in existence for almost 25 years, and over that time have seen our fleet grow to over 60 articulated trucks and 200 trailers.
We strive to both consolidate our current position as a market leader in the provision of quality logistics and to explore further expansion opportunities with other potential customers.

We specialise in National & International Refrigerated, Dry Freight, Containerised and Bulk Liquid Transport. We also offer accredited Warehousing facilities.

Our Fleet
We currently operate a state-of-the-art fleet of articulated tractor units and trailers.
Our fleet consists of the following;
* Over 60 modern tractor units, all of which integrate to our GPS/GPRS Tracking & Fleet Management System. They are all part of a 3 – 5 year replacement programme, depending on their working environment.
* Over 60 Refrigerated Trailers, ranging from Standard Splits, Multi-Temps, Double-Deck, Hangers and Railers.
All trailers have temperature recording equipment, allowing live temperature readings to be monitored in real time, via the GPRS mobile network. Customer Track & Trace is available on all our refrigerated trailers.
* Over 80 Curtainsiders and Euroliners.
* Over 80 fixed and sliding skeletal trailers, suitable for 20’, 40’ and 45’ Containers.
* Tankers and Flat Trailers.

Products/Services
Refrigeration:
We operate a fleet of over 60 Refrigerated Trailers, ranging from Standard Splits, Multi-Temps, Double-Deck, Hangers and Railers. These trailers are used in the haulage of various types of temperature controlled goods ranging from meat, fish, food & drink, pharmaceutical products and fruit and vegetables.
All trailers have temperature recording equipment, allowing live temperature readings to be monitored in real time, via the GPRS mobile network. Customer Track & Trace is available on all our refrigerated trailers.
Curtainsiders:
We operate a fleet of over 80 curtainsiders and euroliners. These trailers are used in the haulage of various types of dry goods ranging from food & drink, packaging, timber, manufacturing & industrial products and textiles.
Skeletal Trailers:
We operate a fleet of over 80 fixed and sliding skeletal trailers, which are used for the haulage of containerised traffic. The sliding skeletal trailers are adjustable so as they can carry either 20ft, 40ft or 45ft containers.
Warehousing:
We operate a 10,000 sq ft warehouse which is strategically located on the N3, 80 kilometres northwest of Dublin City. We offer the storage of dry goods, cross docking & picking and packing.
We also now offer a cold storage facility for both fresh and frozen produce.
Fleet Tracking:
We use a state-of-the-art Fleet Management System that allows us to monitor both trucks and refrigerated trailers movements in real time.
In relation to our temperature controlled business, we have recently installed a GPS and Temperature Download module to all our fridges that enables us to track temperatures live from loading to delivery.
Data may be downloaded, if necessary, within minutes via email, to the relevant parties.
This temperature monitoring works with spit fridges, multi-temp units and also our double deck fridges. It also acts as an additional security feature for tracking loads.
Maintenance:
We maintain all of our fleet to the highest standards within our own 8,000 sq ft 4 bay workshop.
All vehicles are serviced as part of a scheduled preventative maintenance programme, ensuring that our fleet minimises breakdowns resulting in customers deliveries remaining on schedule.
We also take pride in our fleets’ appearance and wash all vehicles on-site using our own specialised HGV Truck Wash.
